Mr. Dusty Torrey is in his 24th year of education and has served in the Locust Grove school district since June of 2014. He served as Assistant Superintendent for four years and took the position of Superintendent in June of 2018. Prior to coming to Locust Grove, Mr. Torrey served as Principal at the Middle School and Elementary levels along with other duties such as Athletic Director, boys/girls basketball and track coach. He taught Biology for the first eight years of his career and has served a total of 16 years as an administrator in Weatherford and Garber. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from U.S.A.O. in 1995 and later earned a Master’s in School Administration from N.W.O.S.U. in 2000.
Mr. Torrey played collegiate basketball at N.O.C. and U.S.A.O. and coached the game for 18 years of his career. During that time period, he led 6 teams to the State Basketball Tournament, along with being State Runner-Up and State Champion coach at Garber in 2009 and 2010. He has compiled over 350 wins, been selected as Regional Coach of the Year, All- State Coach, and Faith 7 Coach along the way.
He and his wife Raye, have been married for 26 years and have two girls, Rylie and Regan who are graduates of Locust Grove Public Schools. Rylie is in her last year at ORU and she is earning her Master’s of Business Administration degree. Regan is a freshman at N.W.O.S.U. studying Forensic Psychology.
